Newborn Portraits in Jacksonville, Florida

Handsome Jack Hudson came to visit me in mid-December. Mom’s one request was that we get an image she can use for a combination birth announcement and holiday card. After driving almost an hour to get to me, Jack had a snack and then we got busy. He was a champ sleeper once he finally crashed.

Below was the image they selected for that announcement/holiday card combo. jacksonville newborn smiling baby And while not my typical black and white edits, they’re beautiful just the same. Mom let me know she prefers the bold contrast of a true black and white and not the greyed/matte finishes I sometimes do, so I captured these black and whites as Jack was waking up.

Mom got me this image of the nursery wall where she’d like to display some art from our session, and I was able to draw up a few different ideas. I think this one is one of my favorites – a large 30×40 print with a frame (in white) will look lovely, and I adore how Jack made some eye-contact with the camera on this image.

Penningtons | Jacksonville Beach Family Photographer

I recently had the pleasure of meeting the Pennington family after Stephanie of Jaiden Photography referred them to me for a family session! It is always an honor when a fellow photographer entrusts me with their former clients and, in this case, friends! I know Stephanie is missed in the area, especially by this family! We had a beautiful evening for the session, and the location on the St. Johns River was just gorgeous. Cole, who just turned 10, and Lily, 6, are at such fun ages for photo sessions. And fun we did have – the session was filled with fun and laughter, and the images are a wonderful reflection of it!

Shannon is a fantastic and attentive mom, and her efforts are evident because she is raising two great kids! Cole and Lily let me capture some solo images of them! Just look at that sass from Miss Lily! And Cole flashed me his great smile that I know must melt his mama’s heart.

The light on the water was just gorgeous, and was the perfect backdrop for this family! The only thing that would have made it more perfect was some warmer temperatures for our Florida blood! Nelson Family Portraits | Jacksonville, FL On-Location Session

Who do you turn to when your best friend and regular family photographer, Stephanie of Jaiden Photography, is unable to fly in from Indiana to take your annual family photos? You come to me, of course! It’s always such an honor to be selected as a new photographer to prior family photographer that moved away, and so humbling when it was Stephanie that referred them to me in the first place.

Kelly and Drew were a wonderful couple and great parents, which is so nice to see as kids start getting into the pre-teens. Kids at this age, and especially boys, usually want nothing to do with a camera. Mom and dad sat back and relaxed, while I pulled out all the stops on goofiness, eventually getting Brady to loosen up a bit. It was COLD, and a bit windy out on the water, and so we stayed closer to shore.

And Ella and Ava? They were dream girls! A little bit of sass, and a whole lot of sweet! I miss having a young daughter in the house. These girls cheer while big brother plays football, so they are all super-duper busy. I’ve been there before – shuffling three kids to three different practices! And while crazy, I look fondly at that time now and miss it just a bit. In the middle of all the craziness, it’s even more important to come together, take some photos, and display them in your home. I’m so thankful I was able to fit them just before Christmas after not one, but two weather delays.
