San Marco Maternity Session | Jacksonville Maternity Photographer

I love it when friends of my clients reach out to me to document their own special life moments. It is one of the greatest compliments for a photographer. Dide and EJ are expecting their second child, and reached out to me after seeing their friend, Pisey’s maternity session (you can see that session here). Dide is stunning in every way, and just glowing. Her style perfectly complimented her beautiful baby bump. Add in beautiful light in San Marco and the results are perfection.

We also were able to get some sweet family photos with soon-to-be-big brother, Emery. Emery is three years old, and just so handsome. He was very curious about his surroundings – the airplanes flying overhead, fish in the pond and the fountain. Of course, those things were a lot more interesting to a three year old than me and my camera! But the camera sure does love him and his gorgeous eyes!

With the help of grandma, we were also able to get some images of just Dide and EJ, as they enjoy in this special time that goes so quickly. I always love the way a husband looks at his pregnant wife, in awe of the amazing journey they are on. EJ is no exception. His love for Dide comes through in the images.

I cannot wait to meet the new member of this beautiful family in early June!

Eloise | 5 Days New

Sweet Eloise came to visit when she was only 5 days new. She brought both her mom and dad with her along for the ride. This sweet family of three drove over an hour to visit with me and have me capture these first images of their sweet girl! I am always so honored and humbled at the lengths some of my clients have gone to in order to have me capture their special milestones.

Eloise would only handle being on her tummy for a short time (she was quite the fan of being on her back and wrapped up tight, though), and she really worked up quite the appetite after only an hour of posing. I had a feeling she may have had an upset tummy, and sure enough, she eventually let everything out . . . right in Daddy’s hands. I always let parents know that it’s a good sign when their children feel safe and secure enough their parents to they leave little packages like this sweet baby did for her daddy when we were taking that image below. They instinctually know they are loved unconditionally. And all laughing aside, images with big, strong, masculine men holding their sweet, petite daughters always makes my heart flutter a bit.

While Eloise’s mom did ask for simple and neutral, she mentioned the baby’s nursery is pink and white with cream/tan colored walls, so I decided to work on this monochromatic setup using mint. Should they elect to print any of the images with this setup, the green tones will work nicely in there as a soft pop of color. This tieback, as well as the mint wrap in the top image, are both brought to you by Devoted Knits. Trae’s items are so soft and organic, and always sized just right for a little newborn! I know I can always count on her for quality products. The white wrap in the bottom image is from Dolly Priss.

This month’s vendor spotlight is Previews 4D Ultrasound. I met Jessica back when Angel Gowns was first being formed, and she was sweet enough to donate her wedding gown to them. (Angel Gowns of Florida provides free preemie/newborn dressings for bereavement purposes to hospitals in the area.) I found out she was just starting her own business and we worked out a plan for me to donate some of my artwork to her office location off of CR 210 in the St. Johns area. Be sure to make it to the end for a great special from both Jessica and I – perfect for celebrating this exciting time in your life!

Jessica prides herself in the fact that Previews is baby-centered. Her packages are all about the scan time and just getting to see the baby. Taking home printed pictures, a CD, or DVD in a package is just the bonus.

This year, she’s continuing her pursuit to become one of the most used and respected elective ultrasound locations in the Jacksonville-Saint Augustine area. She’s recently added an ARDMS Certified Sonographer, and with her help, Jessica is looking forward to expanding their hours and ability to do more fun and creative things!

Jessica has been really been impressed with the baby-wearing trends and placenta encapsulation that a lot of moms are electing to do. (In fact, I have a friend who does placenta encapsulation if you’re ever looking for someone . . . ~april)

Her best piece of advice for you is to not sweat the small stuff. The house doesn’t have to be perfect; laundry doesn’t have to be done all the time, or any other to-do things on your never-ending list. Take the time to laugh, love, and play together – it goes by too quickly so savor the moments now!

Her services are best scheduled and completed anywhere from 16-36 weeks. Once you hit the 36-week mark, baby is usually too tight on space to get great images.
