I am … A Mother

April did an amazing job with my maternity photos! I was nervous to get photos done due to not loving my pregnant body and she made me look and feel beautiful. She didn’t rush me through my session and gave me many options with her collection of beautiful dresses. We even tried a couple of different ideas, some of them ended up being my favorites! She stayed in contact through the entire process, and with me being due any day, came to my house to showcase the finished products with my husband and me. Couldn’t be happier with the result!

 FAQs

How far in advance should I book my maternity session?

Maternity sessions take place typically between 32-36 weeks, and are booked around 26 weeks to allow time for collaboration and scheduling. I always prefer to book earlier in the range to allow for a weather delay with on-location sessions. A lot also depends on how you’re carrying baby and how early you begin to show.

What should I wear?

Part of your session fee includes a style and concept consultation. Once we have a concept for your final images, then I can help you start with shopping your closets or my client wardrobe and then also provide guidance on what you can add in for the final touches. I have numerous resources to brainstorm ideas from pinterest to stylists and rental options.

How much does a session cost?

Every session is customized so pricing varies. Session fees begin at $690, and clients often spent more on their products, but I do encourage you to buy only what sings to your heart! I’d love to chat with you about what all that includes, what you’re looking for in your session and photographer, and if we’re a good fit to collaborate on a project together! Click here to contact me and set up a call.

Do you provide digital files?

I provide the coordinating full-resolution digital file of every image you purchase during your Premiere Ordering Appointment with a personal print release.

How far in advance should I book my newborn session?

Studio newborn sessions take place typically in the first two weeks of baby’s life; and lifestyle in-your-home sessions take place within the first month. In order to reserve a due date on my calendar, I recommend booking as early as possible, and typically at the same time as your maternity session (around 26-28 weeks). I book newborns as far out as 6 months on my calendar and only accept a limited number per month. Once baby makes his or her arrival, you’ll contact me and we’ll officially get you on the calendar for your session so we can coordinate with my assistant and my hair and makeup artist.

How long does the process take?

The entire custom portrait process may take up to several months from first booking to having your final product in your hands, especially with newborn clients. Please see below for a timeline:

  • Session planning may take 3 weeks to several months for the consultation, location-scouting, and wardrobe selection.

  • Session itself may have to be rearranged due to inclement weather if outside or if there’s a sick kiddo.

  • A Premiere Ordering Appointment takes place between 1-2 weeks after your session.

  • Design work and revisions can take another 1-2 weeks; more if multiple revisions occur.

  • Product delivery for Framed Art and Folio Boxes take 4-6 weeks after the final approval. Albums take 6-8 weeks depending on the customization.

What forms of payment do you accept?

I accept cash, check, and all major credit cards.

I highly recommend April Peebles photography. She has been an absolute pleasure to work with and surpassed all expectations that we had for our twin newborn photography session. She was extremely generous with her time and took stunning pictures.
