Allow me to introduce myself (or reintroduce myself to those that have been here for a while). I’m April and I am a portrait photographer based out of Jacksonville, FL. I primarily shoot out of my home studio, which has been really difficult since covid hit and my husband now also works from home full time. A super random but very obvious fact about me is that I am a native Floridian born and raised here in Jacksonville - well, technically Orange Park! Wherever you are, make a quick list (on your phone, on a napkin or old receipt) of one thing you’ve perceived with each of your five senses today that you’re thankful for! I’m currently in my family room loving the smell of my Sweater Weather candle from Bath and Body Works, the sight of a beautiful bright sky, and the sound of laundry washing. This morning, I was so grateful for my delicious chicken minis (though I wish I had this apple pie around) and the feel of 78 degree weather allowing me to wear sandals today. What’s on your list, friend?

I have struggled to show myself the same grace I show others when they make mistakes, but am working every day to turn things around. Lately, I really remind myself to be perfectly imperfect.
